After the Manchester synagogue terror attack, broadcasters like LBC need to examine how their output has contributed to a climate of hatred against Jews. When hating Jews leads to murder, we need to ask how our society has allowed this hatred to fester. Less than three months ago LBC broadcast a horrible anti-Jewish slur for which its presenter had to apologise.
In July 2025, on his LBC show, O’Brien read out a message from a listener claiming that his Jewish wife was taught at “Shabbat school” that “one Jewish life is worth thousands of Arab lives, and that Arabs are cockroaches to be crushed.” He read it out unquestioningly, and faced protests outside the radio station.
